Comfort Your Child
Touching or stroking your child can be very comforting to your child. Familiar items from home can comfort and reassure. Nurses can help you decide what is best at this stage in your child’s care. You might consider bringing items such as:
- Favorite blanket, pillow, pajamas or nightgown, robe, or slippers
- Story books or coloring books
- Reading books or magazines
- Music with headphones or portable CD player
- Favorite TV program
- Familiar smells
- Video Games such as "Gameboy" or "PSP" are not recommended as some games can trigger seizure activity.
